In Six Swans, I have typed the Brothers Grimm tale and made 6 works, by cutting the text into strips and using a process similar to weaving to put the text back together. The works relate to the 6 shirts the heroine of the story had to knit from nettles in order to give back to her brothers (whom the wicked step-mother had transformed into swans) their human form. In order to break the spell, the girl is not allowed to speak or laugh for six years. | ||||||||
