Alphabet: the good kids, 2015, text carved on blue paper, dimensions variable.

For the Phenomenon (1) residency I have carved excerpts from Alphabet: the good kids, the book from which generations of Greek kids learnt to read, onto sheets of blue book cover paper, which I hung on the windows of the classroom. The text, partially discernible only from specific angles, lets the sunrays through small holes on the paper, creating constellations and opening up the words to new meaning. It creates an environment between day and night, between now and then; a fading memory of childhood, where our first perception of the world was formed through language.
